Council Meeting Recap: October 2015

In an effort to improve our transparency and communication as your Council, we are sharing a recap of last week’s Council meeting. The minutes will be posted on the Council bulletin board in the basement after they are approved, but here are some highlights in the meantime.

After assembling in God’s name, we began by discussing the process and next steps being taken in regards to LMC’s current events. We will share more information with the congregation as we are able.

Ben Dieterich gave his Treasurer’s Report. We are still over a budget a bit. This is due to our payments to Kairos, the firm assisting us in the capital campaign. There is one payment to Kairos remaining.

Pastor Tim shared his Pastor’s Report. As we already know, he submitted his resignation letter earlier in October. Besides his regular responsibilities, he has spent a great deal of time this month tying up loose ends and handing over duties in preparation for his departure.  His final day at LMC will be November 22.

We heard an update from Ben Dieterich, Jay Kapp and Dave Byerly on the search for an interim pastor. We have received three pastor profiles from the synod office and will be scheduling interviews in the near future.

Pastor Tim offered a blessing and we departed in God’s name.

Hopefully this gives you a little glimpse into our process and keeps you informed as to what we are talking about right now. As always, let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to work for you!
